Golang Job Details

Let's start the right way:

Research has proven that men will apply for a job if they meet ~60% of the criteria. However, women and people from other untapped communities generally only apply when they meet 100%.

We don't think that should be the case. So, if you're concerned that you're not ticking all the boxes, but think you may have some transferable skills that could help you ace the role, just apply!

About Redbubble:

Redbubble was born in 2006 in Melbourne, Australia. The dream was simple. Give artists a meaningful new way to sell their creations. Today, we connect over 800k artists and designers with millions of fans across the planet.

As for us? We're passionate, imaginative, and a little offbeat. An inspired mix that's helped artists earn over $100M since launch. We're also nice, well-balanced folks with lives outside of work!

Through our marketplace, artists are able to earn from their work, enabling them to create more fabulous artwork. With over 20 million unique designs for consumers to purchase on a range of 100+ print-on-demand products from stickers to t-shirts to throw pillows. It's a treasure trove for the curious and creative.

The Team & Role:

We're looking for someone to join the Marketing Platform team as our new Software Engineer. The Marketing Platform Team is currently a small team of six who owns a key lever of growth and acquisition at Redbubble. The team is also responsible for transforming product and customer data to power off site acquisition activities. Working predominantly with back-end systems, you will help the team build a future where they imagine anyone can discover a product they were unaware was possible, which perfectly represents their, or their loved one's, identity. You will be at home in this team if you enjoy pairing/huddles when coding, ideation, and designing solutions.

What you'll do:

  • Work with the Engineering Manager, Product Manager, designers, engineers as well as Marketing and Commercial stakeholders to design and validate solutions.
  • Identify, communicate, and work to mitigate technical roadblocks and risks.
  • Engage with external stakeholders about technical challenges and solutions.
  • Design and optimise services handling high volume data pipelines.
  • Integrate Redbubble services with third-party cloud services.
  • Centralise and aggregate customer data.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience delivering initiatives in Agile teams.
  • A collaborative mindset with transparency, authenticity, trust and curiosity.
  • Willingness to learn different languages (e.g. Typescript)
  • Experience pairing with coworkers for coding, design, technical spikes, and documentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues in a complex production environment.
  • Experience measuring and maintaining the health of systems (monitoring, testing, recovery).
  • Experience integrating with marketing products (e.g. Segment, Iterable, Products Up) is a bonus.
  • Experience building solutions on cloud platforms and services (AWS or GCP) is a bonus.
  • Experience coding with GoLang, Ruby or JavaScript is a bonus.
  • Experience with high data volume service is a bonus

Our benefits:

  • Meaningful work that allows you to contribute to a mission you believe in
  • A safe and supportive place to continue to grow and hone your craft
  • A diverse and inclusive work environment where you can connect with colleagues from around the world
  • Generous flexible work arrangements, and parental leave programs
  • An opportunity to give back through community volunteer events and corporate partnerships like Code Like a Girl

We value open-minded, open-hearted teams, who reflect a diversity of experience, identity and perspective. Our differences make us smarter, and inclusive working cultures are healthy cultures. We are working hard to sustain a culture of belonging that promotes, advances and celebrates diverse identities and voices. We are committed to building a workforce that reflects the artist and customer communities that we serve.

Bringing more creativity into the world takes all the crayons in the box, and we're excited to hear from you.
